SHUT DOWN PROBLEM

When I close down my PC it often refuses to turn itself off. I then have to use the off switch on the back of the case. Works OK when I reboot. Just a minor annoyance I know but any ideas why?

Could be your anti-virus prog stopping your system from shutting down, Norton is one such program that i have had problems with.

check the settings in "control panel/ power options/advanced" and set the options to shutdown for when i press the power button, and standby for when i press the sleep button.
