Shut down / Hibernate

  rawprawn 11:25 06 Jun 06

Is there any difference in power useage between these two options?

Hi Dennis

Hibernate probably uses very, very slightly more.

Although your tower actually powers off in hibernation and thus uses no power' your monitor (if it likes mine) goes into standby but does not fully shut down.

Thus the monitor is consuming a very small amount of power.

the brackets should read - if it's like mine

Thanks Craig, that's what I thought. My screen also goes to standby but I can then switch it off.
I am trying to go green!!

Start smoking again, that should help.

Hi John, I go green just watching people smoke so it's cheaper. By the way I am trying to upgrade my Acronis TI but I am having problems buying it because I can't enter the State. I seem to remember you had problems, how did you get round it? (You can email me)
