Show desktop icon

Normally there is a small icon in my 'Quick Launch' space which, when clicked, clears all open windows and takes you back to the desktop. In fact it is a toggle switch. Two days ago it disappeared, no doubt due to something I had done. However, short of trying System Restore, does anyone know how to get it back?

Try the procedure below.

Open Notepad and enter the following text:

[Shell]
Command=2
IconFile=explorer.exe,3
[Taskbar]
Command=ToggleDesktop

Save the new file as Show Desktop.scf then drag and drop the icon on the Quick Launch bar or whatever location you want the shortcut to appear.

Forgot to say that it is very important to save the file as Show Desktop.scf and not Show Desktop.txt

If you have any problem with saving it correctly post back.

Thanks to both of you for your quick responses.
I have used VoG™'s tip but only because it took less work on my part to try it, and it worked.
Thanks again.
