Should I will leave Thunderbird Mail client.

This morning thunderbird mail client decided to delete all my emails after my antivirus told me that I might have a problem in my inbox. All emails in my inbox disappeared. The headers remain and but the content of the emails has vanished. Several thousands of them

When I checked the storage folder of thunderbird, the actual size of the inbox.msf file had shrunk to 1.9MB where it was at least 50MB previously.

Even if OE had its default, it never never did so much damage to my contents, which is prompting me to think over switching again back to M$. Any help welcomed.
