Should I upgrade my Graphics Card?

I have a Packard Bell iMedia desktop which came with an ATI RV370 SE LP graphics card (325 MHZ clock, 64 bit DDR memory interface, MPEG 2 decoding, with 128MB of DDR Ram for the display) and I'm considering upgrading.

I spend a lot of time reviewing and tweaking digital photos in Adobe Elements 4, and when I've got a few images open, processing times lengthen considerably. I feel upgrading might help this. Not quite sure what to upgrade to though. The NVIDIA GeForce FX 5500 seems to get good reviews, but what's the best way to check whether I am actually upgrading to a better card?

Manipulating photos doesn't take much graphics memory but it does take system memory. How much system memory does your pc have?
