Should I remove or disable mobo soundcard drivers

  Dragonfyre 14:06 19 Jan 09

Have just taken delivery of a new PC, this has 7.1 channel sound on the motherboard. I however have a Creative soundcard that I am going to install. My question is this, should I delete or disable the drivers for the on board sound card or just leave them as they are. I have been told that the comp can run two cards, but creative say remove. Suggestions please

go to bios setup and disable the onboard audio,it should be HD audio nowaday if not AC97.

you will need to disable the onboard sound in the bios in order to use the card.

Boot PC
watch for message ??? to enter setup (where ??? could be Esc Del F1 etc)

Press the appropriate key

In BIOS all instructions to move/ change are at bottom of page

go through pages until you find HD audi /AC97 or simular

change to disable

SAve and Exit (F10)

No BIOS changes are made until you have saved and exited. DO NOT CHANGE ANYTHING YOU ARE UNSURE OF.

Aftrer save and exit the machine will continue booting
