Last night I downloaded a cpuid file from a website! this morning when switching on pc an icon appeared titled "X comment",on opening, it stated that when I next connect to the internet I would be transfered to a 0900 number at £1.50 a minute, I immediately removed any reference to this file in explorer and the registry.but is there any way of checking that I have been transfered to a 0900 number?

Check the number shown in your connection settings also:

Download, update and run the following

Spybot click here

AdAware click here

SpywareBlaster click here

also get BT or you phone provider to block premium rate numbers, its worth it in the long run as these dialer programs are becoming a regular feature in the forum
