sharing printer

I have a laser printer (USB) connected to my computer. I want to be able to print from my laptop using the same printer. At the moment I just unplug the printer and replug it into my laptop. Can I buy a switch or something into which I would just plug my printer, main computer and my laptop to save the wear and tear on my usb socket?

Do you have a wireless or wired network.if you do then it will be very easy.if not,then you can buy a network cable for about £5 and then you can share files,and the printer.also if you have windowsXP it will be even easier.
