Hi, Is it possible to share my internet connection at home with my laptop when I am out and about, say in the park. I dont want to use mcdonalds or starbucks etc.(I think their connectioons are called wifi or something) so can I wirelessley connect my laptop with the host/main computer at home, (not forgetting that their will be no phone line available) at a distance of 1 to 2 miles. I am running XP home on both machines. Thanks soo

You could use your mobile phone. I think any other system over that range will require a licence.

Cant be done I'm afraid.

You can use a mobile phone to connect direct to the net but not to the host machine at home.

As a side issue a guy I know has set up a WIFI system in a small village in Lancashire. The connection will stretch for miles and the locals can all hack into it.
