A few months agao I had to reinstall windows xp from the Dell disk. Everything is now working perfectly, but on running sfc /scannow i get a message to insert windows installation disk and copy files to dll cache. Is this because these are files taken from the Dell reinstallation disk and not an original xp disk. Do I ignore this problem or I read somewhere that I can reregister the files so that sfc reports no errors, I would appreciate some advice please many thanks

You can ignore the problem, I think it will be because your Dell XP is SP1 and your windows has been updated tp SP2. You can slipstream the SP2 onto a disc if you want.
