sfc demands CD

Even though I have modified the Source Path as in
click here (VoG™'s link in a similar thread)

  VoG II 16:02 17 Feb 07

Did you change both of the possible keys:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\SourcePath

  Graham. 16:05 17 Feb 07

Didn't know you had to do NT. I will try that once the laptop has restarted. Once it asks for the CD you're stuck.

"prevent 99% of request for the the XP CD"
Looks like you are the 1%.... :(

Well that's life, *sympathetic sigh*
just the sort of thing that happens to me also.

  Graham. 16:12 17 Feb 07

...NT\CurrentVersion\SourcePath or Setup\SourcePath, no entries. Should I put one in?

  Graham. 16:19 17 Feb 07

I've added the entry in WindowsNT. Still asking for the CD. This is not an exercise, Internet Explorer keeps shutting down and PC World are baffled.

  Graham. 16:34 17 Feb 07

I'm going to copy the I386 to CD...

  Graham. 17:56 17 Feb 07

That didn'y work, 'Wrong CD'. I have a feeling this new laptop is a lemon.

  lotvic 21:31 17 Feb 07

Were you not provided with a CD with XP on? (or a recovery disk CD that will also have the I386 folder on)

  Ho-Lin-Sok 22:07 17 Feb 07

Did you click on "windows" or just scan the list that opened under windows in the registry.

Sorry talking bollocks again, must get off this bloody medication.
