setupx .dl corrupt

hi a freinds computer was doing silly things after a clean install of win 98se
when i run sfc it said that the setupx.dll was corrupt i replaced the file ,restarted and run sfc again and it was still corrupt just checked ms support it says i need to update the verification table .

how do i do this and whats it for thanks dw

To resolve this issue, use the appropriate method:

Update the Verification Table

When the Changed Files dialog box appears, click Update verification information, and then click OK.

I have the same file corrupt on W98SE for years via using SFC. If your PC is working OK and is stable ignore it, and that goes for any other corrupt file thats identified. David

the thing is it is giving problems drives going missing prog's disapering and such. so i think that this should be the first place to start.
So if someone can explain how to update the verification table i should be so happy

My setuo.exe [win98 SE] is always corrupted. In the search for enlightenment I did an SFC straight after a total reboot. Setupexe [and some others] were corrupt! It doesn't seem to make any difference to anything.
