Setting up Suselinux 10 to connecto Broadband

  Neil22 22:01 14 Mar 06

Hi I have a Wireless Network connected to via a homeplug (Ethernet) device where signals are week. Windows is happy with it hardly needed any configuring at all. Suselinux seems to work as KDE Explorer can connect to the Internet but all other software can't. Can any one help me to configure Linux to connect to my broadband network. Thanks.

Yes that's the one. It is connected to an Ethernet card which is recognised by Linux but I do not know whether I need to change anysettings at all. I know I can connect to the internet via KDE. But Firefox & automatic updates don't or can't seem to connect.

I had problems with connection some sockets gave limrted or no connection i ran an extension cable to the socket nearest the consumer unit and was able to connect, they are susseptable to rcd's and spur sockets.

setting for firefox and auto updates not sure ;but worthwile trying other sockets to improve your signal.

hope trhis is helpfull
