Setting up outlook 2010

I have Outlook on my XP laptop and have made the settings for email (AOL) [imap and smtp, etc] and it works fine...I can send/receive normally.

I've tried to set this up on my Win7 desktop and have copied the settings exactly as per the laptop, but it won't set up completely. It gets to the 'test email' step then fails.

Anyone have any ideas as to what the problem might be?

On the laptop I'm using comodo firewall, & avast free a/v, but on the desktop I'm using windows defender as firewall, and avast free as a/v, just in case this might be the issue?

You need to recheck your settings. Is authentication required? Windows defender isn't a firewall but I understand that Windows 7 has one built in.
