OK. I finally did it and bought a new PC. BUT I'm not sure which way to go about setting it up. I bought it without an Operating system as I have a brand new winxp pro (never used) and also an extra 512 MB of RAM.

Opening the case isn't the problem with the gaurentee .

Do I put the ram in first or set up the PC

OR doesn't it matter which way round I go about it?

TIA

I would put the ram in first but I don't suppose it matters much.

Personally I would set up the pc as is, this way you will find out if it works without having to worry if you knocked something when installing the extra ram. When you have installed the os and are satified that all is in order, put in the extra ram stick.

'Course the choice is yours.

Hope this helps.

After setting up your PC before putting in any extras I would first back it up to disc, any problems after that you can easily restore to your original settings
