I have 3 computers connected from a wired hub.
As the 3rd is just an old spare computer I have installed redhat linux on it. The operating system seems to be installed and working correctly but I just cant work out how to network it with the other 2 computers which run windows xp pro.
Originaly all 3 computers got their internet connection from the internal modem of one of the computers (this 1 still runs XP)

Can you ping the other computers from the Linux computer?
Is the interface up and running on the linux computer?
Type "ifconfig" in the shell and see what you get.

You may have to up the interface with "ifconfig eth0 up" (taking eth0 as your interface, could be called something else).

If you have a router assigning IP addresses then you need to type "dhcpcd eth0" to get an assigned address, you could assign it manually with "ifconfig eth0 <ip address you want>"
