Setting the Monitor Refresher Rate

Hi

I have a flat screen monitor which is working at a refresher rate of 60Mhz as per the Windows default I think. Can I increase this or would this harm my monitor. How do I ascertain the limits of my monitor

Do you mean tft or crt.
If its tft or lcd 60MHz should be ok.

I think I mean TFT its not a traditional CRT. I was just curious as to whether a higher refresher rate might improve image quality or reduce strain on eyes not that there is a problem at the moment

If you are using WinXP do you have Clear type enabled.
Right Click Desktop
Properties/Appearance/Effects/
