setting up an ftp site

i was wondering if anyone could enlighten me as to what programs etc i need to setup a secure ftp area on my website so i can limit the access that people have to certain areas of it ie. i would like to give different companies access to only their folder & when they login they go straight to that folder.
a tall order i know but i know someone out there will know the answer - i have faith in you guys!

you set it up through your host, you dont need software todo it, though its best to use software to access it :)

djbenny thanks for that
so i can use a webpage builder & intergrate a link to an ftp area on the site.
also can i put passwords onto folders within the ftp area?
