I have my ASUS PC-DVD set on Region 1. It setted itself automatically after viewing 5 consecutive NTSC DVDs. Is it possible to change it to multi-region or at least to region 2 so as to view PAL DVDs?

There is a program you can download called DVD Genie it is freeware and you will find it here
click here I haven't used it myself but apparently it can help with region problems.

They usually only lock onto a region after 5 CHANGES, not 5 consecutive plays.

with flashing the drive and changing the firmware to RPC1 i would just get two dvd drives. One region 1 and the other region 2. I got two liteon drives from pc world (just drives no software etc) for £35 each. It was only the old Matshita drives that could be used with dvd genie.

Then just got a power cable splitter. Excellent.
