Hi, I have my Broadband working well on my desktop. I am about to change this for a laptop. This may be a silly question but do I just plug in the lan cable and it will work, or do I have to set it up as I did when I first got broadband. Thank you, Dennis.

From memory, you will certainly have to load the drivers for the modem that came with your modem, and the drivers for the device within windows. It will appear as a new adaptor in Network Connections.

Hi, I use an external Router/Modem that, as far as I know, needed only the username/password to get it going. I may be wrong about the drivers as I used the CD that came with it. Ta, Dennis.

If its a router it is already set up as you thought, you just need to connect your ethernet card in laptop to your router and it should be OK
