I want to set up a server but am unsure how i can get into the machine to configure, Do i need to install windows server 2003 on my notebook and connect to the server? confused!

What i should of said is that everything including switches etc are plugged in and computers ready so i mean to ask does my notebook need to be the admin medium for the server? thanks.

via the machine on which it is installed. If your server is running windows server 2003 you don't need to install the software on any of the machines which connect to it.

If it is running server 2003 how do i access the network operating system to manage the server? im really on a learning curve with this.
