Serial ATA Hard Disk or EIDE Hard Disk

My dad is looking to buy a hard disk. He has an EIDE interface mobo but isnt sure whether to go for this hard disk type or for a serial ata hard disk. Also, can you get adapters to change from a serial ata hard disk to a mobo eide connector?

I would stick with EIDE for now - unless he has a very modern mobo and needs the extra speed from the ATA.

Yes, you can get adapters (well a plug-in card actually) - but it's utterly pointless. As said above, stick with IDE - you won't see any extra speed with SATA from todays drives anyway.
