I have never used powerpoint before and I am trying to make a small presentation.
On one of my slides I have four objects and I want each of these to appear in sequence only when I click the mouse Please could someone advise as to how I achieve this.

In Office 2000, in PowerPoint, on the menu bar there is an item "Slide Show", one of the options on this menu is Custom Animation. Here you can set the order of items to appear, how they appear and when (automatically, or on mouse click).

Alternatively, you can just create 4 slides with 1, 2, 3 and 4 items and just step through the slides. Having said that, Mike's suggestion gives you the option of having each item appearing using a range of effects e.g. sliding into view.
