sending mail using alternative server via aol

I have a virgin.net account and a university imap server. At home, I use AOL as my isp but when I try to send mail using either of my above email addresses, outlook express does not send it. I receive mail on both servers ok. I use Windows XP home and IE 6 (+ Outlook Exp 6). Is there any way to get around this?

Don't think there is, I use AOL and have not yet found a way round this. As you probably know IE will ask you to set up a pop3 account, and you can't do this within AOL.

The only other way is to have a PAYG ISP and set up IE through this and use on the occasions you need to.
