Sending an email goes through Google?

When I want to send an email from a website to enquire about a product etc., I get redirected to Google to send the email. In the past, it went directly to the recipient. Is this an increasing trend, or ios it something that I may have inadvertantly clicked on sometime? jonem81

No or possibly... The most common type of request is the HTML "mailto:" action you'll see on web pages. If a link is encoded with "mailto:" instead of "http:" when someone clicks on it the browser will fire up the default mail client for that user to compose a new email message. See ClickHere the google bit is near the bottom of page.

I have just tried to do that, but I get a different dialog box than the one that comes up in the demo. Perhaps I should have stated that I use Windows 7 HP, and perhaps get a different dialog box?
