Select drive letters for CDROM and DVD devices

A week ago I added a DVD R/RW, and I want to choose the drive letters for this and another CDR/RW also working normally.

Both drives work as they should, but I don't seem to have the same "settings" panel in Win 2000 as still exits if I boot into 98SE (installed on the same computer).

Just to add more fun to the mystery, the DVD drive calls itself a "Removable D" instead of a Compact Disc. Properties does not offer renaming
either.

I have tried uninstalling both and rebooting but back they are again labelled as before.

Thanks Santos7 Diskmgmt.msc shows all the partitions and their details, but not the CD drives.

It is only an irritant because in W98 I was able easily to choose the letter I wanted - like R: for reader and W: for writer.
