Security Problem

  brambles 19:11 19 Jul 08

When I turn my computer on I get a warning 'Check your computer security. There are multiple security problems'
Because I have Windows Live OneCare I switched immediately to it to be advised Status good Firewall on(home/work)
If I then open Windows security Centre Firewall is off and I have to turn it on. Clearly something is causing a conflict but which information do I rely on?

scroll to halfway down the page click here or delete the repository folder, this will force windows to make a new one, and this is really the only time when it looks at any depth as to whats actually going on. or disable it completely in services msc

Try scanning with other Anti spy programs to check for any nasties

Here are a few free antispyware/malware programs to use,

Only run one at a time

Always check for any updates before running

SAS/ Superantispyware click here

MBAM/ Malwarebytes/ Antimalware click here

Thank you for your prompt replies. In the end I found with my Windows Live OneCare I was entitled to Microsoft support. It proved to be quite complicated - they took control of my computer, and after 30 minutes they resolved the problem. Thanks again. Brambles
