Did the MS support email have any details at all about the specific scanner problem? Was it sent to the same email address you provided MS during the WL Help.
A 0844 number isn't really too bad when it comes to 'premium' rates. We'd all be concerned if it was £1.50/min, but it's much lower. You are aware that you have a free choice to call it or not?
I've been updating Adobe Flash Player without reading the EULA & haven't had a single problem. And I'm sure 99.9999999999% of their other users have done the same with the same result. G
