Security Center (Firewall & Antivirus problem)

  zemdarin 17:40 30 Jul 06

All of a sudden my security center has stopped recognising my Firewall which is Kerio and Antivirus Nod32. I now have to tick the boxes to say I monitor my own. Has anybody else experienced this, if so is there any way to make it recognise it again please? I have scanned for viruses and malware with Counterspy AdAwareSE plus with no results to any problems. Have run an in-depth scan with Nod32 same result.

It's perfectly normal.

Just leave it at the self monitoring setting.

ZoneAlarm has a similar reaction to some AV utilities.

I keep the Security Centre disabled entirely. It's a totally pointless utility.

When it was first conceived it wasn't pointless but an attempt to try and overcome the problem of those who couldn't or wouldn't take suitable security precautions whilst on the Internet.

A fairly feeble attempt.

Thank you everybody. I will just leave it as self monitoring then. I just wondered how it could have gone wrong when they were shown as being monitored. Most probably an automatic download from Microsoft I expect.
