Feature Overview - The Secunia Software Inspector:
* Detects insecure versions of applications installed
* Verifies that all Microsoft patches are applied

I have just used the Beta version and it found 6 unused and out of date programs,

It is worth a look,

Thanks mfletch
Told be that my winzip was out of date (which I knew)
and that my Macromedia flash need to be updated.
Everything else OK.
Bookmarked!

Ah Ha!
So I upgrade my Macromedia flash player from 8 to 9.
Check on the adobe site and it tell me that 9 is successfully installed.
Run the Secunia Inspector again and it still tells me that I only have 8 and that I need to update!!!

Have you restarted your computer to fix the change

"Have you restarted your computer to fix the change"

Yup - and it still tells me I am using version 8.

Only other thing have you removed the old version?

If yes Secunia isn;t any good,

It gets worse mfletch.
First off I thought I had already upgraded to 9. Checked my downloads folder - and indeed I had - back in August. So 9 was there all the time!
I think 9 only works as a plug-in to 8 because 8 is still on the system.
However when I installed 8 - it removed 7 - but the Secunia Inspector tells me that I still have 7 on the system .
What Ho!
