second user cannot access a drive

i have evesham system 2 pro graphics
512mb ddr ram
all of a sudden my wife cannot access "a" drive
it gives me an error message.
i have made her an administrator on the user details..but still nothing...
she used to be able to do it before because she has saved some of her revision onto disc before
she is training to be a nurse
any ideas.

the message is A:\ is not accessible
access is denied

It may be as a result of Fast User Switching - if you switch user to her account, after having accessed the floppy on your account, the floppy drive will still be 'locked'.

To test for this, reboot and log straight into her account and try to access the floppy.

If this is the case, either log out of your account (instead of using 'switch user'), or make sure you have removed all traces of floppy access from your account (e.g. a 'my recent documents' entry that points to a file that is on a floppy disk).
