At present I have one Hard drive (60 Gb) fitted which has been partitioned into 6 separate drives.
I wish to install a second internal hard drive for backup purposes only.

Is it possible either at the time of installation or later to make this drive "Z" as I would prefer not to have to reinstall all the software on the other partitions.

I would appreciate your advice

Thanks

Keith

It will try to push in as D. Fdisk it as Extended, not Primary, to prevent this & let it tag on to the end.

Irrespective of what drive letter the new drive takes, there should be no reason to reinstall your existing software on the existing drives.

If you're on XP you can designate any (unused) drive letter to your new drive. All you do is work from Disk Management.
