This thing has hijacked my home page. I have tried spybot, and changing the home page manually, but to no avail.

How can I get rid of it?

Way past my bedtime so can.t help much but maybe try Malwarebytes to see if it finds the problem.

Or try Hitmanpro in safe mode with networking.

having a Google did not bring an instant fix so maybe have a quick look for yourself.

Hi, My name is John, and I'm a member of the Searchqu Support Team. I'm here to help :) From URL you provided it looks like Searchqu was installed on your PC when you installed iLivid- a download manager which includes Searchqu as an option. When iLivid installed onto your pc it offered two basic installs, typical installation, which lists the add-on features such as searchqu default search, and Custom installation, which allows you to select the add-ons that you wish to install. There's no need to worry if you did the typical install - this isn't a virus, nor malware, and there's no need to Perform a virus scan against it. Please visit iLivid's support section where you will find detailed instructions for uninstalling Searchqu,by following this link:http://www.ilivid.com/faq.htm

We are here to assist with any further question :)

Avery poor site according to WOT.

Maybe best not downloading anything from it till you check it out with your anti-virus first.

Hi Buteman, We understand your concern. However, mywot.com only posts comments from panicked users, they do not post the uninstall instruction :-) No reason to be alarmed, iLivid isn't a virus, nor malware, and there's no need to Perform a virus scan against it. We assure you.

When iLivid- a download manager which includes Searchqu as an option, is installed on your PC it offers two basic installs, Typical installation, which lists the add-on features such as searchqu default search, and Custom installation, which allows you to select the add-ons that you wish to install.

1.Go to Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs > look for windows searchqu toolbar > Uninstall

2.Write in the URL address: "about:config" It'll warn you to be careful. Go in anyway. After the page opens, enter the word startup in the filter box and press [Enter].
