Search Key Not Found

Can anyone please help? I have an Access database which for some reason some of the records seem to have been corrupted.
Some characters in a couple of records have been replaced with squares & when I try to edit these records (delete the squres, etc) I get the following message: 'The search key was not found in any record'. If I try to move onto another record or even just try to close access the same message appears.
Can anyone tell me what might have happened to my database or what I can do to fix it please?

Thanks for the link Joe. I tried installing the above but apparently the version on my machine is newer than that so it didn't install.
Do you have any other ideas as to what could be the problem??
