search facility in Adobe READER

Does anyone know how to use the search facility in Adobe acrobat reader?

At work we have a PDF document which is huge (well in excess of 1000 pages) and when we need to use it we are generally just looking for 1 line for the info we need.

I have tried clicking on the binocular icon and typing in a word to search for, it performs a search but finds nothing (the word does exist in the document).

I have now tried it at home to see if it's a fault at work but I get the same result here. I have even tried copy and pasting from the PDF to the search bar with no joy.

At home I have reader version 6 and I think we have version 5 at work.

Any ideas please?

click on search.Type in your word or phrase. Make sure the radio box for IN THE CURRENT DOCUMENT is checked. Check the box WHOLE WORDS ONLY. And presto......I have version 6 and have just tried this on 4 different words in a PDF document and it came up trumps each time. TT

thanks for that.

I'll try it at work tomorrow.

Should get me a few brownie points.

Thanks again.
