Hi

Can anyone tell me if the Seagate External Desktop Drive ( 500GB) is compatible with Windows 7. The box only says it works with Vista and XP.

I want to transfer files from my old laptop ( running XP) and transfer these to my new laptop - not yet bought- that will be running Windows7.

Tried talking to people at PC World but no joy !!

Any help greatly appreciated.

It may just be an old box and so doesn't mention Windows 7.

Can't see any reason why it wouldn't work - presumably it's just an external drive plugged in via a USB port (i.e a bog standard interface)

The drive itself should function with any operating system, including Windows, Mac and Linux, but there may be bundled software that requires a particular operating system. If it's Vista-compatble, it should be OK with "7".

The Backup Software is on the Drive so it should still work okay
