SDRAM 134pin or 168pin

got this old Gateway pentium 166 and want to increase ram memory but not sure whether to get PC133 or PC100 SDRAM, not even sure abotu whether it's 134pin or 168pin...any suggestions? Will appreciate. And how do I know the difference b/w 134pin and 168pin...just count?

Your pc almost certainly does not use sdram dimms. It will probably use edo simms fitted in pairs i.e. if your machine currently has 32mb ram then it is fitted with two 16mb simms. Open it up and have a look at existing memory modules. Simms have metal spring clips which allow the simm to release sideways and down. Dimms have plastic clips which allow the dimm to release verically upwards. If in doubt, visit HP web site to track down Gateway support and find out what is actually fitted according to mobo manual.
