On startup w98 a screen displays the above message , this can be closed and doesnt appear to interfere with general operation , does anyone know what it is and its cure?

Nothing definite, but sdii is a sound file format - have you been installing / uninstalling sound cards or audio programs?

If you go to Start > Run and type

are there any references to sdii, or a program that may use sdii files, listed in the Startup tab? If there are, and you are sure you don't need it, simply untick it and reboot.

its probably something to do with your scanner or scanner sofware

If you have scanner software (ie. mgi photosuite etc etc) then do as jazzypop has said and uncheck it in the startup tab list
