screensaver not working

When I leave my office at 5PM, my PC (ADSL) goes on screensaver which is protected by a password to stop the night watchmen from messing about on it. Yesterday morning, I find that the screensaver was not functioning any more! Everything else works normally. Is there a way that one could by-pass the password? My PC is on an office LAN, so we have to keep it on 24hrs.
Thanks.

When you boot the PC up, do you have to put a password in before it finally boots up? If not, all they have to do is turn the PC off and reboot.

Yes the computer has the same password when booting up after being off and also in the screen saver. I have managed to get the screensaver working again by switching off the PC and back on.I wonder if there is a way to by pass both passwords?!!
