Screen saver not working

  heavymetalkid 10:54 04 Dec 05

My screen saver has stopped coming in for no apparent reason. It used to show the Windows moving logo after 30 minutes, shortly after that the screen would shut down in hibernation mode. Anyone know how to recover these and also change the timings on them both?

Right Click anywhere on your Desktop, then click Properties then the Screensaver Tab and set it to what you want.

Thanks Rawprawn, on the same subject does anyone have any opinions about whether or not screensavers are necessary? I've got a flat panel monitor.

Screensavers were used when we only had mono (green) monitors to stop "burn-in".

Colour monitors do not suffer from "burn-in" so a screensaver is not necessary.

My computer is on for hours every day sitting on the Google home page when not being used. I have no screensaver and no burn in problems.

I agree with pj123, but if you like a change of scenery ??? no harm done.
