Screen resolution

I have a LACIE Electron Blue iv monitor. My present screen resolution is set to 800 x 600 but LACIE reccommends a resolution of 1280 x 1024 for optimum dsplay performance. But when I change to this resolution the words and figures on screen are much too small to read. Can anyone help please?

Afraid that's normal. Have a try at 1024 x 768 and see if that is any better. My monitor also recommends a higher res than 800 x 600 but I am happy with that. The only time I do need to change it is when I am using Sonic MyDVD which insists on at least 1024 x 768 and I have to put up with the small text.

mine is set to 1280x1024 which made the type and icons too small, but you can alter them and the font is all under display settings.

Right click on the desktop, then Properties, then Appearance, then Advance and you can then change the text size, icon size for most applications. Have fun
