Screen and mouse freeze

  Jez P 22:52 16 Aug 04

I run Windows ME. Recently the screen freezes completely at random whether I am doing something or not. This can happen anything from a minute or so after startup to a couple of hours or even not at all in a particular session. CTRL+ALT+DEL has no effect at all and the only solution is to use the reset button, thereby losing anything I am working on. The problem started after I got a MS Trackball Explorer and installed MS Intellimouse software. I have since reverted to using an optical mouse and have uninstalled the Intellimouse software, but the problem persists. So I am in need of ideas people, any help will be appreciated!
