Screen Colours

I take photos using the Adobe RGB colour setting on the camera. So I thought it would make sense to set the Sony Vaio A317m default monitor profile to adobe rgb, the printer to adobe rgb, and adobe photoshop cs to adobe rgb, so that I get consistent colour. Sounds simple enough?

Not on yout life, when I print out to my canon pixma ip8500, either in photoshop or windows picture and fax viewer the colours are near the original and fairly true. But on the screen the reds are very orange, and the greens a bit off. I have tried adjusting the colour by using the ATM software and Adobe Gamma but can't get the colours right.

It does not seem to matter what colour profile I choose for the Sony Monitor default profile, they make no difference to the colour on the screen in desktop or viewer, but changing the Adobe Photoshop preference does and CIERGB setting brings the reds neare to true.

Any ideas??
