Screen background graphic - he no like!

  jack 19:49 07 Apr 03

I have created a screen background graphic for my machine, in this fashion. Scanned a photo, added clip art, saved to JPEG, deposited it into Womdows root directory along with all the windows backgrounds. Then Control panel/ Display/ Background, select item. OK the preview, click apply
click OK and Bingo its in.
Done lots of times, not only for me but for friends who asked -Me Too!
Until today that is.
All the above took place.
Inserted OK
Displayed OK.
At the next restart its gone.
More over. when 'Display/ background'goes to find it, this particular machine instists in looking for it in 'A' drive. From whence it came of course, but was selected and copied and pasted into Windows root directory.

Whats amiss?

This is a Win95 System, However I have done another Win 95 that is perfectly OK.

A miss is as good as a mile (*_*)

Sounds to me like you selected the graphic from the floppy drive rather than the one you copied to the Windows directory. Naturally, since the disk is now a mile away, Windows misses it by a mile.
