Scratch in a DVD

I have a scratch in a DVD I have heard you can polish it out using some sort of mild abrasive is this correct if so how do you go about it in circles or polishing inside to out

Do not go in a circular motion go from inside to outside.

If it is copyable make a backup before you start polishing.

I suffered a similar problem and bought a scratch repair kit for a few quid from local music/cd shop.

It advises that once the liquid solution is applied to the surface of the disc, then a gentle circular polishing motion should be used, around the whole surface of the disc.

I`ve used it several times as per instructions, and gotta say, it works.

Try carefully using a liquid metal polish like the old Brasso
