scrambled pics!

Hi - when I copy a file of pics they are scrambled when I copy them - ie theyt are not in the same order as in the original file. This happens when I copy to CD or simply make a copy of the file. Help!!!!

How are the photo files named?

If they have numbers, then you can get some odd sequencing. For example, everything starting with 1 could precede anything starting with 2.

So 11 will come before 2.

If you want the photos in a specific order for running a slide show, it's much easier to use an alphabetic identification system.

Windows always put everything into alphabetical or numerical order.

So the only way to stop the reordering happening is to rename the files in the folder

Also happens with music files when burning to CD so I rename the files

001 name
002 name
