scanner problem

I have MS Vista on my new computer. I have downloaded the new driver for my Canon Lide 80 scanner as recommended and the scanner is listed in my control panel. I have checked the system and it says it is correctly installed.
When I try to load pictures from it to my Adobe Photoshop page, (I have both 3.2 and 5 versions) on my computer) I get the message "no scanner detected"

How can I get the Adobe programmes to recognise the scanner? logrin

Have you told Adobe to aquire the scanner?

Also, have you rebooted the computer after you loaded the driver? This you have to do with a Scanner

If you can see the Scanner in the Control Panel, have you tried checking Properied and clicked on the Test Scanner or Camera to see if it works?
