scanner problem

I have an optic pro 9630P scanner I was copying a document when I cancelled the scan as it was taking too long. The carriage is stuck part way and no matter what i have tried it will not reset. I have switched off/on, uninstalled the software and drivers and reinstalled any ideas? I am using win ME.

Have you tried disconnecting the scanner from PC and power supply? Leave for a few minutes and try again.

When you re-apply power can you hear the motor kick in? If so it may have thrown the belt.
