Does anyone know of a new scanner which has facility for scanning photographic negatives, not only 35mm negatives but formats which preceeded these?

What do you mean by 'formats which preceeded these'? Which sizes.

There are several film scanners which will scan various sizes - but they are quite expensive and all the ones I've seen are SCSI. The cheapest I've seen is Minolta's Dimage Scan Multi II at US$1850. I'm sure there are others. Try some of the makers web sites - Minolta, Canon, Sony, &c.
