Scanner HELP

  machoe 13:23 01 Nov 04

Hi, we have a scanner at home and we have two computers. One of he computers has a scanner while the other one does not have. Is there a way to make the other computer use the scanner without using my computer, like for example through a network. Thankyou

What operating systems are the PCs using?

If the scanner is USB, you may be able to use a switch box like this click here .

Because Scanners are so cheap now (from about £15 depending on the scanner) it may be easier to buy another scanner for the other computer.

I also have 2 computers and each one has its own scanner. click here

Unless you need to use the scanner every day on your own PC, it takes only a minute to move it. Otherwise, a good excuse to buy a new one. Not too much more than a switch box and extra cables.

Can't two XP computers be 'networked' together without any further software? If so, could one then access the scanner that's plugged into the other? Any advice from XP experts?
